Philip Cohen featured in USA Today on U.S. Divorce Rate

Millennials are contributing to the declining divorce rate in U.S.

Erin Jensen, editor for USA Today on Life, just published an interesting article called "Hold your heads high, millennials and Gen Z! There are (at least) 6 things you haven't ruined," where in terms of the millennials' marriage, she cited a 2018 study on the USA's declining divorce rate by Faculty Associate Philip Cohen .

Cohen in his 2018 study noted that, the 18% decrease in divorcing rate through 2008-2016 can be entirely contributed to younger women. Using numbers from the Census Bureau's American Community Survey, Cohen addressed that even controlling for other factors such as an aging population, the results still show a downward trend in U.S. divorce rate.
