What costs are associated with being denied access to abortion ?

A Scientific American article by Mariana Lenharo investigates issues of consequence in the balance as the Supreme Court considers cases that threaten Roe v. Wade.

Faculty Associate Julia Steinberg referred Lenhar to studies that suggest that women seeking an abortion tend to have more existing mental health disorders than women who choose to carry their pregnancy to term. “It explains why we see a correlation or association between abortion and subsequent mental health in some data,” she said.
