Philip Cohen appears in radio panel discussion
MPRC faculty associate Philip Cohen recently appeared on the radio in a panel discussion of Melvin Konner’s new book, “Women After All: Sex, Evolution, and the End of Male Supremacy”. Konner posits that while aggression and physical strength made men the dominant gender in previous eras, in the current age women are being shown to be the naturally superior gender. Cohen takes the position that while there are differences between the average characteristics of males and females, there is also a great deal of overlap. According to Cohen, most of the differences between men and women are socially, not biologically determined. And while we have made great strides toward gender equality, we have a long way to go before women achieve true social and economic parity with men.
