This workshop will be led by Sarah Flood and Liana Sayer, PIs of the NICHD-funded Time Use Data for Health and Well-Being project. The workshop will provide an overview of the 2021 ATUS Time Use Survey and Well-Being module data https://www.atusdata.org/atus/. The Well-Being Module (WB Module) is a special supplement to the ATUS that collects quality of life data for three randomly selected activities reported for each respondent, information about how well-rested the respondent felt on the day about which he or she was interviewed, and information about health, including whether the respondent has high blood pressure, takes pain medication, and self-reported health status. The IPUMS Time Use team secured funding from the National Institute for Child Health and Human Development and the National Science Foundation for a 2021 Well-Being Module.

After the workshop, participants will be comfortable navigating IPUMS ATUS, a harmonized version of the original ATUS data, creating IPUMS customized data extracts, including creating custom variables that summarize different types of activities, using our online data analysis tool, and understanding data analysis challenges related to 2021 data.
