Joseph Richardson elected to the National Academy of Medicine

Decades of rigorous science on gun violence earn Richardson this highly esteemed honor

MPRC Faculty Associate and MPower Professor of African-American Studies, Medical Anthropology and Epidemiology, Joseph Richardson, joins the National Academy of Medicine (NAM) alongside 100 newly elected members.

Richardson is elected to the Academy -- one of the highest honors for scholars in health and medicine -- "for being a nationally and internationally recognized pioneer in research on gun violence, firearm injury, trauma, and interventions." Working with top scholars in the Academy to address complex public health issues, Richardson will provide advice, analysis, and suggestions for public policy.

Congratulations, Dr. Richardson!
