Katharine Abraham cited in safety net for unemployed in COVID-19 pandemic

The U.S. lags behind other developed countries relative to unemployment benefits, according to researchers in a new paper published by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

In a recent article, Greg Iacurci at CNBC covered safety net policy for unemployed in pandemic. The author cited a paper co-authored by Faculty Associate Katharine Abraham, which stated, "The United States can and should provide greater support to unemployed individuals who are looking for new jobs or seeking to upgrade their skills to transition to a new type of work."
