Katherine Abraham comments on economic data independence for CNBC

Tucker Higgins writing for CNBC explains even though the Trump administration attempts to intervene in the independent federal agencies such as the Bureau of Labor Statistics and Bureau of Economic Analysis according to a report by The New York Times, the inner working procedures and the long standing tradition of independence within these agencies will not allow any data manipulation at any level.

Faculty Associate Katherine Abraham, former commissioner of the BLS, commented on a culture of extreme independence long held within these agencies, "In all of these places, people talk to reporters."
