Baltimore’s population declines for the fourth consecutive year
The Washington Post reprinted an Associated Press story about new annual estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau showing that Maryland’s biggest city, Baltimore, lost approximately 7,346 citizens during the past 12 months. Faculty Associate Andrew Fenelon commented that Baltimore has seen an estimated 3% decline in its population since 2015. This latest number represents a loss of 1.2% of the city’s population, and it is the fourth straight year of population decline for Baltimore.
