University of Maryland honors 15 MPRC associates
The University of Maryland recently honored over 200 members of its faculty who have made significant contributions to research and scholarship during the past year. In this group were included 15 MPRC Faculty Associates doing population research in public health, economics, sociology, criminology, women's studies, and environmental science.
In his comments, University President Wallace Loh emphasized the role of the university as a place where knowledge is created and preserved for future generations and noted that in the 21st century the university project must include centers of innovation that bring knowledge to bear on societal issues.
