The UMD College of Agriculture and Natural Resources' (AGNR) virtual Sustainable Food Systems Lecture Series is a part of AGNR's strategic initiative to Establish a Healthy Food System and Ensure Global Food and Nutritional Security. This year, the series is centered around topics of food security and equity, with a theme of diversity, equity, inclusion and respect for all in sustainable agriculture.

On Tuesday, April 20th at 6 pm EST, Dr. Stephen Thomas, professor and director of the University of Maryland School of Public Health's Maryland Center for Health Equity will be leading the lecture, "Addressing Health Disparities Through Urban Farming." The discussion will center on how urban farming can promote health equity.
