For six years, the University of Maryland Symposium on Environmental Justice and Health Disparities has provided a forum for open dialogue between community members and organizations, environmental justice advocacy groups, researchers, scholars, legal professionals, elected officials and many more.
This year, in the interest of health and safety, we will be convening online using Zoom Webinar, courtesy of the University of Maryland.
The upcoming symposium will highlight:
- the 50th anniversaries of Earth Day, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA),
- COVID-19 and environmental justice,
- racial bias in STEM funding,
- the 2020 US Presidential Election and much more.
