Sentiment Analysis from Social Media Data by Machine Learning Methods

With increased ease of access to the Internet and the rising popularity of social media platforms, more and more people are inclined to share freely with others freely their own opinions regarding various topics on such platforms. The analysis and categorization of the intrinsic sentiment/opinion embedded in the text of social media posts can be beneficial in innumerable ways. This has given rise to a huge demand for so-called Sentiment Analysis (SA) paradigms and, therefore, vigorous research in this area. In this talk, an overview of sentiment analysis will be provided, with emphasis on popular machine learning methods. Some applications will be discussed briefly
