Dan plays a role in all of the firm’s investment strategies and is an architect of the Turner Healthcare Facilities Fund, which targets a reduction in preventable healthcare disparities through the delivery of cost-effective, clinically efficient healthcare facilities for best-in-class healthcare providers focused on the delivery of value-based healthcare.
A 30-year real estate industry veteran, Dan has a broad range of experience in fund formation, investor relations, portfolio management and investment-level strategies, and is an expert in helping scale high-performing organizations. Throughout his career, he has been responsible for the development, financing, operation and disposition of over $10 billion of real estate assets across all major property types.
Immediately prior to co-founding Turner Impact Capital, Dan spent over a decade overseeing all of the equity and debt investments of Canyon Capital Realty Advisors, where he was a Principal and served as a member of the investment and executive committees. While at Canyon, Dan was also responsible for the launch of several ground-breaking real estate funds including the $200mm Canyon Catalyst Fund, the $200mm Canyon Multifamily Impact Fund, and the take- over, management and realization of a $570mm portfolio of urban real estate for a large U.S pension fund. Prior to Canyon, Dan held numerous corporate and operational roles in the areas of asset management, development, redevelopment, leasing and property operations within large publicly-traded real estate investment trusts.
Dan has served on numerous civic and charitable boards and is currently the Chair of the University of Maryland Incentive Awards Advisory Committee, a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Maryland College Park Foundation, a member of the Board of Directors of the Terrapin Development Corporation and a member of both the Pension Real Estate Association and the International Council of Shopping Centers.
