For this meeting, the journal club will discuss two papers by Angus Deaton, the Nobel Prize winner in 2015. Deaton’s research covers a wide range of topics in development economics, among which he has special interest in health issues. The JEP 2006 paper is a broad review on the determinants of mortality and the newly published PNAS 2015 paper documents and discusses a recent rise in morbidity/mortality among white non-Hispanics in the US.
All graduate students and faculty are welcome to attend the meeting, which will be held on Friday, November 13 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in room 2101C, Morrill Hall. For more information, please contact Sai Luo or Andrew Williams.
