Biography:

Robin Bloodworth is a PhD student in the Department of Health Services Administration, School of Public Health, at the University of Maryland, College Park. Her research interests include (1) health policy development and implementation, particularly in regards to minority health disparities and preventive care utilization; (2) healthcare economics, including cost benefit, cost effectiveness, and comparative effectiveness analysis; (3) healthcare access and utilization, especially concerning vulnerable populations; and (4) geographic information systems (GIS) utilization in analyzing health trends and indicating potential policy solutions. Recently, Robin has been part of research teams that conducted Community Health Needs Assessments for local hospitals in Prince George's County, MD; evaluated the health literacy and cultural competency of FDA consumer websites; and examined the effects of the implementation of a global budgeting system on hospital readmission rates and quality of care indicators in the state of MD.
