Biography:
I am a PhD Student and Graduate Research Assistant in the Maryland Institute for Applied Environmental Health in the School of Public Health. My research interests include environmental justice, exposure assessment, water quality and health disparities, particularly among underserved populations. My current work investigates the adverse health effects associated with exposure to contaminants faced by residents, subsistence fishers and recreational users of the Chesapeake Bay watershed, particularly the Anacostia River. The aims of this work are to inform policy and educate and promote healthy living among these populations using a community based participatory research framework.
