Biography:

Liana Sayer is an authority on time use and has published widely on gender and social class differences in time use. She is the director of the University of Maryland Time Use Lab and teaches courses in sociology. She came to the University of Maryland in 2013 from the Ohio State University, where she taught for ten years.

Dr. Sayer focuses on two strands of research: 1) cross-national and historical determinants, patterns, and consequences of gendered time use; and 2) gendered associations between economic resources and relationship processes and outcomes.
