Introduction
Professor Porter primarily focuses on research topics related to incarceration and questions related to the health issues of currently and formerly incarcerated persons. Her current work also explores the physical and social dynamics of crime hot spots.
About this talk
Dr. Porter will use her paper “Beyond the dichotomy: Incarceration dosage and mental health” in Criminology, where she utilized NLSY-97 and fixed-effects models to examine the link between years of incarceration and mental health outcomes. During this talk, Dr. Porter will also discuss her experiences in journal selection and revisions to the submitted journals.
