Call for Abstracts 50th Anniversary Special Issue on Population Challenges in the 21st Century: Looking Backward, Looking Forward

PDR seeks abstracts (250-400 words) and extended abstracts (2-4 pages) for potential contributions to a special issue addressing population challenges in the 21st century. This issue will publish in 2024 to mark the 50th anniversary of the journal. We are looking for papers analyzing critical population issues, relationships between population and human welfare / societal challenges / development / environment, and policies or programs addressing adverse demographic trends. Papers may present novel empirical evidence or offer a review, reflection, or commentary on these issues of importance today or in the future. A focus on social equity and justice dimensions is welcome. The paper should have a broad regional or global perspective and ideally contribute to policy debates.
