Assistant Professor of Anthropology and Sociology
The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at George Mason University (soan.gmu.edu) is hiring a sociologist for a full-time (9-month) tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning August 2019. They are interested in outstanding candidates with expertise in quantitative, digital research and / or computational social science methods, including: network analysis, geo-spatial mapping and methods, digital sociological methods, or computational social science—including agent-based modeling. The successful candidate will have a well-defined substantive research agenda that has direct policy relevance and / or addresses matters of public consequence, in particular policy discussions on labor and schooling transitions, or race and inequality. The candidate should demonstrate evidence of the potential to acquire external grant support for this research.
