IPUMS-MEPS is an NICHD-funded project designed to make Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS) Household Component data easier for researchers to use. MEPS is an ongoing panel survey with information on health status, medical conditions, healthcare utilization, and healthcare expenditures for the U.S. civilian, non-institutionalized population. It began in 1996 and is collected by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. The initial, beta release of IPUMS MEPS includes over 1,000 annual summary variables from the 1996-2014 MEPS Full Year Consolidated files.
