IAPHS Newsletter and PAA Session

Updates on Membership, PAA, and Communication

Several Center associates have become engaged with the Interdisciplinary Association for Population Health Science (IAPHS), a new scientific organization that connects population health scientists across disciplines and sectors, advance the development of population health science, and promote its application.  Faculty associate Christine Bachrach has recently been appointed Executive Director of IAPHS, Chris and Marie Thoma are members, Edmund Shenassa will be contributing to a blog that will be launched on the IAPHS website shortly, and Polina Zvavitch (graduate student in Sociology) is helping to edit the IAPHS newsletter.  To date, IAPHS’s 160 members include individuals representing 26 different disciplines and professions. While most members are based in academic settings, a small but growing number work in applied settings such as government and health care organizations.

Others in the MPRC community are warmly encouraged to join, get involved, or sign up for the newsletter here.  IAPHS is also hosting a member-initiated meeting, Opportunities for Population Health Science in a Changing Context, at this year’s PAA meetings.  The session is scheduled for Wednesday evening, April 26, 5:00-6:30 in the Lake Michigan Room of the Hilton Chicago.  All are welcome!
