Assistant Professor, Sociology of Migration
The Department of Sociology at Michigan State University seeks candidates for a 9-month tenure-system, position at the Assistant Professor level beginning August 16, 2016 in the area of the Sociology of Migration: Migration and Work in New Economies. The ideal applicant should have a solid understanding of the intersection between migration, work, social conflict, family stratification, culture, race, ethnicity, immigrant reception and/or social policy. The individual in this position will have a 100% appointment in the Sociology Department and will be expected to develop a well-defined research program in international migration, work/labor, and to contribute to other departmental specialty areas and/or centers on campus.
