Support Services for Researchers

A variety of hardware and software support services are available

Software Support

MPRC provides subsidized access to Stata, SAS, and other statistical software for center affiliates

MPRC provides free access to SAS and Stata for faculty. Supporting student affiliates are also eligible to receive these programs at no additional cost. If you are a center affiliate interested in either of these programs, please contact mprc-it@umd.edu.

MPRC can also provide remote access to more specialized software such as Mplus and Stat Transfer for faculty. If your project would benefit from additional software, please contact mprc-it@umd.edu.

Hardware Support

MPRC provides computer labs, remote machines, and restricted data enclave access to affiliates.

MPRC offers a range of hardware support for faculty and student affiliates working on population research. Among these services are:

  • A computer lab and graduate student work spaces in Morrill Hall.
  • Dedicated remote machines for faculty projects.
  • A restricted data enclave and personnel for managing secure data projects.

Due to COVID-19, in-person access to computers is restricted. However, we have remote access options available. If you are an affiliate in need of computing resources, please contact mprc-it@umd.edu.
