Kearney OpEd lays out plan for effective recovery

Summarizes a paper with Aspen Institute Economic Strategy Group

Writing in the Washington Post, Faculty Associate Melissa Kearney lays out a strategy for responding to the COVID pandemic with four important elements:

  1. support unemployed/underemployed workers;
  2. bolster wages of low-wage workers & encourage employment;
  3. lending support to businesses;
  4. financial support to state/local govt, including for k-12 & higher ed

Her co-authors, Jason Furman, Timothy Geithner, and Glenn Hubbard, represent views from across the political spectrum.
