Trump presidency could jeopardize agency funding
Amid concerns about the appointment of a new commissioner of the Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) under a Trump presidency, potential funding cuts are an additional obstacle that experts are worried about. Faculty associate Katharine Abraham argues that the BLS budget has not kept pace with rising administrative costs in recent years. In a comment for an article for the Bloomberg BNA, she stated, "The economy has gotten more complicated, so I am concerned that in a tight budget environment that that’s going to translate.”
