About the Presentation
Living arrangements among older adults are heterogeneous and reflect contextual factors such as population aging, economic development, cultural norms, as well as individual characteristics. While many older adults continue to live with family members, older adults living in an independent household, either alone or only with a spouse, have become increasingly more common. This article explores and compares the determinants of independent living arrangements at older ages in 128 countries over the past six decades.
