About the Presentation

At this upcoming MPRC Journal Club meeting, Dr. Stoebenau will provide an overview of the use of vignette experiments as a method for examining beliefs and norms through the example of her recent publication, “Developing Experimental Vignettes to Identify Gender Norms Associated with Transactional Sex for Adolescent Girls and Young Women in Central Uganda” in Journal of Adolescent Health. During this meeting, she will also provide advice for graduate students who are working toward publishing their research.

About the Speaker

Kirsten Stoebenau, Ph.D.

Dr. Stoebenau is an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Behavioral and Community Health. She is a social and behavioral scientist with expertise in the social determinants of women’s sexual and reproductive health in sub-Saharan Africa. Her research has examined adolescent fertility and women’s sexual behavior within the context of HIV prevention.
