About the Presentation

More people identify as LGBTQ than ever before. Using data from the National Health Interview Survey, alongside other population-level data sources, Dr. Corinne Reczek provides an overview of what we know about LGBTQ populations, with a focus on the demographic, socioeconomic (SES), and familial characteristics of this population. Special attention will be paid to demonstrating how the LGBTQ population is not a monolith, but instead has significant demographic, SES, and family variation dependent on the LGBTQ identity status. Dr. Reczek will also outline new empirical questions to push the frontier of LGBTQ population research.
