Greetings from the Center for Global Migration Studies!

On March 28, 2019, we will be hosting Kicked Out: U.S. Detention and Deportation Policy in the Prince George's Room at the Stamp Student Union.  This interdisciplinary conference explores the historical development and contemporary impact of U.S. detention and deportation policies.  In the 21st century, the number of detained and deported men, women, and children has risen radically.  At the same time, new research is changing our understanding of such practices.  Panelists and participants will open dialogues on the uses of these policies, the impacts on communities, and strategies for responding.
Attached you will find the conference poster, and more information can be found on our website: http://www.globalmigration.umd.edu/events/conferences/kicked_out.php.
