Have you ever wished your research findings were known by a wider audience? Drawing on PRB’s Policy Communication Training Program and previous PAA sessions, Dr. Mather will describe some of the key strategies to expand the reach of your research. He will also provide an overview of the Population Reference Bureau and his NICHD- and NIA-funded work to translate demographic research for nontechnical audiences.

About the Speaker

M. Mather

Mark Mather is the Associate Vice President of U.S. Programs at PRB, where he . communicates population research to advocacy groups, educators, journalists, policymakers, and the public. He is associate director of PRB’s Center for Public Information on Population Research, funded by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. In partnership with the Michigan Center on The Demography of Aging, he produces reports, web articles, and data visualizations that highlight research findings on the demography and economics of aging. He holds a Ph.D. and MA in Sociology from the University of Maryland and a BA in Anthropology from Penn State University.
