Biography:
Recent publications include articles on the influence of state level health policies on the opioid epidemic, behavioral health related issues among children, youth and families and social determinants of behavioral health. Dr. Ali plans to continue his work in the area of behavioral health services research but expand its scope to study other emerging public health issues like opioid use among reproductive age women during the perinatal period and psychotropic medication use among preschool aged children. He also is interested in examining the causes of low rates of behavioral health treatment among individuals who have been diagnosed with a behavioral health disorder, especially among the criminal justice involved population and other vulnerable groups.
