Ken Hill
received his Ph.D. from the London School of Hygiene and
Tropical Medicine and is currently Professor of Population and Family
Health Sciences at The Johns Hopkins University. He is also Director of
the Hopkins Population Center. His research interests include the
development of demographic measurement methods, the measurement of child
mortality, the exploration of links between demographic parameters and
economic crisis, the impact of policy and programs on demographic
change, the role of gender preferences on child health behaviors and
fertility, the demography of sub-Saharan Africa and the measurement of
demographic parameters for populations undergoing complex emergencies.
Recently, he has published a paper entitled Methods for Measuring Adult
Mortality in the Developing World: A Comparative Review and has also
published "Interrupting HIV transmission in Africa" in Foreign Policy.
