Diane Herz is Project Manager of the American Time Use Survey (ATUS) Program at the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The ATUS, which is conducted for BLS by the Census Bureau went into production in January 2003. BLS will release first annual estimates in mid-2004. Diane has worked as an economist at the BLS for 16 years--12 as a labor market analyst focusing on topics including women's workforce patterns, pension and retirement trends, and worker displacement. She began leading the development of ATUS when it received funding in December 2001. She has a BA in Economics from the University of Maryland and an MS in Management Information Systems from Nova Southeastern University.
