Working Groups
MPRC uses Working Groups to motivate research and to stimulate cross-discipline interaction. . . .
Gender, Work, and Family Working Group
The Gender, Work, and Family Working Group of the Maryland Population Research Center meets on a regular basis to exchange ideas about current research, to develop research collaborations, and to serve as an opportunity to present research findings in a preliminary stage and receive feedback. Meetings are open to all faculty and graduate students with interests in related research topics. The agenda is completely driven by the interests of faculty and students.
Health Working Group
The health working group focuses on the influences of social background and social context, particularly race, class, and community environment, on behaviors proximal to and resulting from overweight and obesity among children and youth.
Immigration Working Group
The Immigration Working Group is led by MPRC Director Sandra Hofferth and Faculty Associate Judith Freidenberg.
