New Data Products
MPRC faculty associates have been involved in the construction and enhancement of four large data projects, including: 1) a web-based data system for the American Time Use Survey (ATUS); 2) the construction of Historical Census Research Files (HCR); and 3) the construction of two matched employer-employee datasets: the DEED and the LEHD. Details about these datasets is in this section.
The 1990 and 2000 Decennial Employee-Employer Databases (DEEDs)
Associate Judy Hellerstein and colleagues use business address information to match workers to employers to create a new data product.
The Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamic (LEHD)
Match rates of up to 97 percent have made the LEHD an extremely popular dataset, now being used to examine immigration in the U.S. including exploring the adjustments that firms make to absorb immigrants.
Version 1.0 of the American Time Use Survey Data Extract Builder (ATUS-X)
The American Time Use Survey Data Extract Builder Version 1 is up and running. Dr. Katherine Abraham and her colleagues are working on improvements and organizing a workshop and conference for Summer 2009.
