MPRC Affiliate Judith Shinogle
MPRC is saddened by the unexpected passing of Faculty Affiliate Judith Shinogle. She started her association with the Center while she was Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Services Administration in the University of Maryland School of Public Health. After moving to the medical school at UMBC she remained an MPRC affiliate and contributed to the Center scholarship.
Dr. Shinogle had a distinguished and productive career as a health policy analyst and health outcomes researcher. She earned a Ph.D. in Public Health Economics from the Johns Hopkins University, and a Master’s in Health Policy from the Harvard School of Public Health. She was an assistant professor in the Department of Health Services Administration at the University of Maryland College Park. She has also held positions as an economist with RTI International, a NCHS/AcademyHealth Policy Fellow, and an assistant professor at the University of South Carolina.
Dr. Donald F. Morris, Director of the Maryland Institute for Policy Analysis and Research, noted that "Dr. Shinogle was admired as a highly productive scholar and rigorous policy analyst." Her recent interests included behavioral health, obesity, and gambling.
