Information:

University of Maryland President Wallace Loh will speak about his experience as an immigrant student and about the DREAM Act.  State Senator Victor Ramirez will address the DREAM Act and other issues.  Janelle Wong (Director, UMD Asian American Studies Program) will speak generally about the national issues regarding immigration.  Laura Vasquez from the National Council of La Raza will address legislative and other issues surrounding immigration.  Other sponsors include the Asian American Studies Program, Beyond the Classroom: A Living and Learning Program, Department of Anthropology, Latin American Studies Center, LGBT Equity Center, the School of Public Policy's Norman and Florence Brody Forum, and the Office of Diversity Education and Compliance.
